I wonder if the Dolphins recognize individual humans "There's Gustavo, he's brought the big nets today. Ooh and I see Jorge, he's a got a long reach."

This documentary forgot to mention two key facts. One, there have been instances where the Dolphins have been caught in the nets. They do not panic, but allow themselves to be dragged in because the fishermen let them out. Second, the fact that after the fishermen have finished pulling in the nets the Dolphins wait patiently, because the fishermen give the Dolphins their share. Mutually beneficial relationship.

Every now and then a story comes along that makes me smile and makes me think this planet has some hope.

My girlfriend is from Luanda, Angola, and they have the exact same collaboration between the dolphins and the fishermen going on there as well. The dolphins wait until the fish it caught, and they they sit and wait for the fishermen to feed them. This is why they know each other so well. They speak Portuguese in Angola, just like in Brazil. Maybe the dolphins understand Portuguese better than English, LOL!

Man, this is why I love the fascination of existence and how things evolved in the first place.

What you just described is the exact definition of collaboration.

Wow, they cut off the fact that the fisherman actually gives the dolphins their share! Once the fish are hulled in and the dolphins are released from the nets, the fisherman tosses a couple of the fishes directly to each dolphins who are waiting...

Why the hell did they cut that part off.

Laguna in South Brazi.
Fishermen and dolphins cooperate in an amazing partnership resulting in plenty of fish for all.

This is like some Avatar shit! Humans and wild animals working together, it's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen!

The local dolphins recognize, even know the names of some humans. "Oh, that's Pip-pip-squick, see him?"

Animals as intelligent as this do not deserve to be held in captivity (This includes us humans).

I believe if an animal shows this level of intelligence they should be granted the same rights as humans, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Dolphins are now arguably (in the scientific community) to have the intelligence of an 8 year old.

"Each root apex harbours a unit of nervous system of plants. The number of root apices in the plant body is high and all brain-units are interconnected via vascular strands (plant nerves) with their polarly-transported auxin (plant neurotransmitter), to form a serial (parallel) nervous system of plants.
