Ahhh, the Prikkiki. First time I found them I let them out and suddenly the empire surrounding it that had been preventing my growth was being invaded. Oh no, whatever could we have done to stop this.

Number zero: an enigmatic being only known as “the lag”. While no physical manifestation of the lag has ever been observed, our records show that in every galaxy with a large amount of spacefaring civilizations, the most powerful of the civilizations, no matter how morally good or egalitarian, near invariably begin inexplicably committing terrible genocides in order to quote “prevent the lag”.

Fun fact about the dimensional horror: if you ask those library guys, with all the knowledge, about the fortress for example, they'll tell you it comes from a dimension best discribed in religious books as hell. The dimensional horror or comes from hell.

BUT. if you talk to the curators about the voidspawn their key concern is that it is only a baby, and evean as a baby it could destroy a planet and go toe to toe with a late game empire (or mid game if you play your cards right). so imagine the size and destructive power an adult could have.

I really love ending the Worm event chain with fighting it. Something about going to the lengths of summoning what is, essentially, an extra dimensional God, only to say to it "Eat my ass" is just so damn cool

Time to inject some more Sci fi lore directly into my frontal lobes

A pity that Horizon Signal is so hard to trigger. It's a fun story. I haven't seen it for quite a few updates now.

The prikikiki are 100% a reference to the people of the planet Krikit from the 3rd Hitchhikers Guide book

I would have given mention to Shard and the molten Kraken that comes from the event where you dig too deeply looking for minerals. For any players who haven't heard of the Rubricator or experienced the mineral dig event those two creatures can be devastating. I still remember my 1st encounter with Shard. I played a reanimating hive mind in my next game specifically to find the Rubricator and get revenge on her by making her my flagship lol

The first time I encountered the Prikkiki ti some AI empire on the other side of the galaxy let them out and they had a pretty big empire by the time I encountered them, they were on the other side of the galaxy so I ignored them, Then I just wiped them out, by declaring them a threat in the galactic community and they were gone pretty fast

TBH the most dangerous 'thing' would be the nation of the Greater Terran Union (GTU) from Stellaris Invicta series in a different Milky Way Galaxy, nonetheless Humanity sure is very dangerous. XD

The end of the cycle is another very terrifying one. I'd say it probably is one up with the worm.

in my headcannon the dimensional horror is much, much, much larger(possibly galaxy or even universe size) than the part that manages to breach into our dimension. We merely fight one if it's tendrils trying to enter Stellaris galaxy. The empires have a responsibility to seek and destroy any portals into that world before they grow larger and larger, eventually letting the being at the other side in.
I wish both Stellar Devouer and Dimensional horror got stronger over time, not too quickly obviously but something like 2x strength for every 50 years would still be crushed easily by late game empires while simultaneously sending a message that those are not just star-system sized tile blockers that can be freely ignored if in remote location or destroyed for some loot. They should feel like an actual threat looming over the galaxy.

The devourer kinda reminds me of the Ca'tan from 40k but might just be me
