DO NOT Install Honey!!! If you did here's how to UNINSTALL HONEY on Safari

Hey everyone, this is serious! A recent upload by the Youtuber Megalag has brought a very widespread issue to the fore. Honey the coupon extension as we all know it may not be as sweet as it appears to be.

If you’ve installed Honey on Safari, it shows up as an extension on the toolbar next to the address bar, and if you click on it you can view the available discount codes for the site you are on or it gives you news about ongoing discounts on any other site.

However, if you forgot to read the fine print, just open safari settings and head over to the extensions page. And over here is a yellow alert Safari’s security protocols have themselves flagged, as Honey not only tracks the sites you visit, but can also access sensitive information such as PASSWORDS, PHONE NUMBERS and CREDIT CARDS.

So what you need to do immediately is hit uninstall, aha but it’s not as easy as that! To uninstall Honey you first need to close safari, then head to your applications folder and manually drag the Honey app to the trash, enter your Administrator password or use touch ID to enable the move and once you do so empty the trash and that’s it, you are no longer in the clutches of sponsor money hungry youtubers!

To check if it actually worked, open a safari window, go to settings, extensions and then re-confirm if Honey has indeed been banished from your device! While you are here be sure to check if any other dubious extensions have made their way onto your device, that’s it for this video guys stay safe!
