Not a bad summary, but HOW can this guy sound so dubious at the end and not EXCITED!?

Why is it that the majority of news stories from the larger outlets always have to put a negative spin on Starship news? This test was a resounding success. They achieved every single objective of the mission and collected invaluable data to take to the next test flights. Yes, part of the flap melted and the heat shield broke away, but that is the whole point of a test campaign, to identify problems and fix them. Elon plans to launch again in possibly less than a month, they are building new Starships and boosters faster than they are able to launch them at the moment! 2026 is 2 years away, there could be another 15-20 launches between then and now. The news outlets did the same thing with Falcon 9 when that was in its test phase and look at it now, more launches, and more payload to orbit per year than literally every other rocket combined, including delivering astronauts to the space station.

#skynews Well done for recognising it a successful launch 👏🏻

It is not the friction which causes the reentry heating, it is the gas compression. The air molecules in front of the vehicle has nowhere to go, thus are being compressed and heated.

Falcon 1 failed 3 times, then success on the 4h launch... Now starship was success on the 4th... Lucky number 4

2:03 that's kinda opinionated. Not really journalistic.

And apart from Sky, other media sources refuse to show this.

The sheer amount of data they got back this time...? WOW!!! This could embolden them to go forward with a full recovery for the next test flight! And since the FAA doesn't need to investigate a mishap, the next flight could happen within a few weeks!

I know we are not there yet, but I can't wait for Starship to take the Artemis 3 astronauts down to the moon's surface.

1:28 holy hell that is gone! Amazed that it still worked

Your reporter doesn't seem to know very much about time lines, they were still unsure about the Saturn V rocket right to the first launch. The speed Musks team work at is incredible.

Atmospheric compression! Not friction.

this test, shows its very flight worthy!

One must be willing to fail before he or she can succeed

Omg i nver seen a rocketship rentry survive that damage.

Each test has been a success, each one providing more data for the next flight. THere are a lot more test flights, and probably a lot more lost rockets before it becomes routine. Just like we are witnessing our first real steps into space. THis is akin to the first ships being built to cross an ocean.
