For me feeling guilty about the waste that my medical needs create is out in 2025. You have helped me so much to see I can be an environmentalist without shaming myself for the needs I have as a disabled person

What’s out: feeling the need to explain myself and my actions to people who aren’t a big part of my life and feeling guilty about not being able to please everyone.

In: putting myself and my family first. Always.

Can't help with weather 😂 cold and rainy in the UK. My out is: talking about saving the "planet". The planet will survive this, if we talk about saving "people" I think it's more likely to galvanise change and more on point.
My in is: treating life a bit like a library. Borrow and rent, then return, pass on or give away.

I’m sorry but “tasty weiner” flavored oat milk?! 😂I say this with the utmost endearment but I couldn’t stop laughing!! I’m in the US so I’m sure this means something totally different in your country but I couldn’t help myself but laugh!

Thanks for sharing such inspiring & encouraging content! I’ve just discovered you in the last few months & have been devouring your videos any chance that I get! I’ve since repaired numerous clothing items, one pair of rubber boots, a cloth door stop, started sewing for fun (to improve my skills) & now have a totally different outlook on materials/goods when I’m shopping! You’ve helped me to see sustainable living in a new light & I’m so grateful!! ❤

Can you make some dumpster diving videos this year? That would be great!❤

I live in New Jersey in the US and we currently have 5 inches of snow and it's freezing. I absolutely love your channel and you values. My husband and I are vegan and we live a very sustainable life. I reuse everything that I can can, repair my clothes as well my aunt's when she needs and we love going to all of our local thrift stores.

My "in" for 2025 is being intentional with my time and money, "out" is passively spending or scrolling without thinking. I'm in Colorado USA and it's dumping snow here. I hope you get some more sun soon, thanks for the video ♥

It's grey and snowy here in Indiana, USA🙃 In: cultivating and appreciating kindness and connection; Out: feeling hopeless and immobilized about the future of my country and of the world. We can still do good.

I find your energy and enthusiasm infectious. Great advice in this episode to encourage everyone to decide for themselves what is in and out of their lives. 🇨🇦

As someone who is on a "diet" for 1 year. I completely agree with what you said. My weight was starting to become an issue for my health and I decided to lose weight. I lost 20 kilos and still counting. How I did this is another story. I ate everything. I told my dietician that I didn't want to eliminate some foods altogether, but rather control my portions and it worked. I feel healthy and motivated, plus I don't miss out on anything. I believe restrictive diets are the most unsustainable things ever and if we want to sustain our health, we should make our relationship with food a mindset and a habit, rather than once in a month starvation diets. Once you get a hang of it, it is the best ❤

My ”in” list includes renting, borrowing and sharing things more, rather than buying or thrifting them. Mending is also very much in, I do repair clothes to some extent but I think it might be time for me to get over my fear of sewing machines. In Finland it’s been very gloomy for ages now. It snowed a lot yesterday but now it’s all melting again. So besides being depressing it might also break your bones if you step outside. Yay!

I live in middle-west Germany and the weather right now is what we call "Aprilwetter". A wild mix of everything within 24 hours. Today we had sunshine, stormwinds chasing clouds, fog, rain and hail. 😵‍💫

My "Ins" this year are reducing all my stashes before buying something new (mainly yarn, tea, baking ingredients, candles), turning old or teared bed sheets into clothing that actually fits me and not eating while watching Youtube, but consciously consuming food and information on their own.

Hot and sunny 35C here in South Australia. What is out is shopping on the internet unless really necessary and what is in is shopping locally and especially supporting small businesses

Really wanted to thank you for being so reliable and well-researched. You are one of the few content creators in the sustainability community that I can still trust. Most of them have been truly disappointing lately - they advocate for "underconsumption" and at the same time they keep buying unnecessary sh*t and are constantly trying to sell us something. By contrast, your channel feels like a safe space. Thank you for being so intelligent and relatable and funny. Thank you for being you!

Love the ins and outs! Visible mending and mending in general is 100% in here too! 😊 Out, for me, is panicking about things I can't control instead of taking actions to change what I can (hopefully, it'll be a tough habit to break 😅) .

Excellent as usual. Love the ins and out for 2025. Simplicity, Composting, Volunteering, and Learning are in for me. Meat Dairy Take out food, and Hate are out for 2025. Sunny but chilly in Austin. People freak out when it snows here😂

In New Hampshire, US the wind is really blowing right now. The trees are swaying and every once in a while i hear my 1740's house creak. It's well below freezing, but so far this year, no snow and the sky is clear and sunny after days of clouds. I'm soaking up the sun while I watch your video. Dark and cold days are really hard. I'm glad the sun broke through for you!

I’ve been in and out of your videos for yeeears. You and Bea Johnson were some of those zero waste pioneers that inspired me to begin the journey six years ago, and for whatever reason I’ve actually been watching your videos again and it has relit the zero waste renewal for this year! 🎉

It's grey and wet in the Netherlands too. 🤣

In:
- Appreciating and using what I have
- Getting through my unread books and unplayed video games, as well as rereading/replaying what I finished before
- Improving my repair/diy skills
- drawing and other creative things
- community
- hanging out with my cats
- cooking at home
- going on hikes
- supporting small/local/indie bussinesses and artists if I do buy something

Out:
- impulse buying and huge hauls
- streaming services. Enjoying dvd's and blurays I already own instead
- giving big corporations money if I don't need to
- agreed on eco cynicism!
- perfection in veganism/sustainability/no buys, etc. It's about progress and doing your best.
