200mp without a good soc is actually garbage because cheap soc. Can't process all that data, In video recording a good 12mp will be much better than realme's 200mp

Shows why just using the hardware isn’t enough. People are still not ready to understand the magic Samsung puts in its high end phones even though hardware may not seem high enough.

There are some more phones with 200mp, but only those 2 can do very sharp 200mp. Realme got less processing - not so sharp or hdr, yellowish look typical for smartphone sensors - not available only on samsung, Sony, Leica mode of xiaomi, but...
It's still better than typical 50mp shot, a bit more sharpness, tho hdr/colors/edges are better on flagships.
200mp on this is awesome not just as 50mp but also as 200mp, not to mention freebie you get with this sensor: it's like having another camera at 2x zoom.
For this price it's great, but I still miss a better superwide, 5x camera and manual pro raw mode for all cameras, not just main one.
Depends on user, if you use cameras more, more importantly if you use raw, you will be satisfied more with old flagship, for the rest it's ... 200MP!

I'd get a Galaxy S21 Ultra for $390 on Amazon instead of the RealMe. I'd still get better looking camera quality out of it than the RealMe 11 Pro Plus is providing here.

Now compare a $300 Samsung phone with Realme 11 pro plus, and see how good the camera quality in Realme actually is

A better comparison would be to see how much better the 200mp hp2 is compared to the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra's 200 hp1 sensor.

For value the Realme is the better choice just based on the 200mp. Of course, it is more than just the 200mp, the whole phone counts. The Realme has also just been released so should get some updates.

My thoughts on 200mp is that it will be for mid-range phones as it can act as a lossless zoom with cropping (when done well). I suspect Samsung went with 200mp for bragging rights, when they should be going 48mp/one-inch sensors. I see the added value the Chinese offer but limited appeal of 200mp as the latter seems to be overkill.

The problem with any Xiaomi phone wether it's a Xiaomi, Poco or Redmi phone it the camera app. I've had a Poco phone and I have a Redmi Note 11 pro 5G.

I've installed the GCAM mod and the picture quality is much better with the GCAM mod on the Poco and Redmi phone than the stock camera app.

If Xiaomii put more effort into the camera app and fixed it's picture / video taking image quality it would be great.
