As someone who did in fact bring their pet Truanchula to elementary school for show and tell I can testify that people especially teachers freak out even if it's always in its cage. Also this fits perfectly with all the established incidents that Luz has caused especially given that aside from the Camel spider on her face Luz doesn't have any real fear of spiders.
