We humans surround ourselves with shit we don't need, laundry detergent is just one of them. I'm giving this a go!

White vinegar is also a pretty solid fabric softener and doesnt clog up your washer with gunk. Dope stuff

As a bonus, white vinegar is a great fabric softener

I started to use various things instead of laundry detergent. Borax, baking soda and vinegar. Got to say I'm happy, our water is super hard and my clothes are so much cleaner and brighter. We've been programmed to think we need all the junk they peddle. Soap and detergent being just one. I also started washing my hands with baking soda, love!

White vinegar works great to clean your towels, making them soft and absorbent.

I’ve been using vinegar for years in my washing machine. If you have clothes that smell bad and you can’t get rid of the smell try vinegar. It really works.

Dude you save so much money on not using or buying unnecessary products. Not to mention all of the snacks and crap. I hear so many people say this is an expensive way to live. If you were looking at a meal to meal analysis. Yes it’s more expensive. But when you eliminate so much crap from seasonings, toppings, dressing, snacks and all of that crap. Your overall monthly bill is so much smaller.

It’s a good fabric softener too. If you’re skeptical. Use a good detergent with vinegar. Use 1/4 of the soap you usually would and then the rest with vinegar. Not only is it better for you. It’s cheaper than buying detergent!

And just when I thought I couldn’t love you more, you give us this. Still haven’t followed your advice on washing dishes, but this is a hack I can do for sure. Thank you for caring about us, Dr. Saladino!

I been using baking soda as the soap & pour vinegar in the softener fill tray. They don’t ever mix & you know what that means. Clothes have never been cleaner. Also. Ball up some aluminum foil as a dryer hack. Your welcome. ✔️👍

There are many recipes for laundry detergents that use either castille soap or coconut soap, baking soda, alcohol and water. I use vinegar as my fabric softener. My clothes don't smell.

Don't use vinegar with your stretchy clothes that contain spandex, says better homes and gardens, the acid will break it down until it eventually loses that stretch. With this logic I also would avoid using it on polyester, nylon or other plastic fiber clothing, my guess is you'd probably be releasing even more microplastics into the air and environment because the vinegar will help to break those 'fabrics' down.

Its also keeps your machine in top notch condition

In Denmark MANY add Vinegar instead of ‘fabric softener’. It clearly softens the fabric, and is also thought to help preserve colours, and to prevent the ‘heating element’ to be covered with calcium.

I don't see how vinegar will clean out oils from fabric without the use of surfactants. I use ecover zero which has no fragrance. I use white vinegar in the rinse cycle only as a softener. I also add sodium percarbonate (mixed with sodium carbonate) with the detergent to improve the cleansing efficacy and it is particularly useful on whites. It also acts as a disinfectant and removes smells.

You still need soap! soap contains surfactants that clean your clothes of dirt when they are being washed. White vinegar does NOT have surfactants and can not be a substitute for soap.

Intereyou mention this. I am currently focused on reconsidering all the items in the bathroom and kitchen and the laundry for cleaning. Thanks for showing an alternative.
