I CREATE A MINIMALIST WARDROBE FROM SCRATCH

A lot of you have asked for another video on how to create a minimalist style wardrobe so here it is. I made this video on my channel as one of the first videos I ever did and I definitely think it needed updating, so here is a 2021 updated version.

I do not class myself as a minimalist but I really do like the minimal style and I think you can learn a lot from minimalism when it comes to fashion. Don't get me wrong, I love buying seasonal pieces but I think it is also good to try and build a versatile wardrobe that's timeless. I would always invest a bit more in good quality basics because you want them to last. In the long run, it will save you money as you won't have to keep replacing them.

Having a solid foundation of basics is, in my opinion, essential for any wardrobe. These are the items of clothing that stay in your wardrobe, all year round, no matter what the season. You can make up outfits entirely of basics alone or you can work your seasonal pieces around them.

This video is just a guide and a blueprint that you can add onto or change up in any way that you feel works for you. A lot of the items are neutral in colour because I like to keep things simple for the purpose of getting my point across and because I do like to keep things simple when it comes to fashion. I do like wearing colour too from time to time but neutral colours are timeless and you can wear them over and over again without getting bored.

Yeah, same here. Stick to chinos, Oxford shirts, white and black sneakers, sweatshirts and actually an overcoat or down jacket. Prefer navy blue over black for my regular wear, for the weekends though a black jeans with a grey sweater is alright. Socks black grey and blue.
