After Effects - VFX Breakdown to District.9 Set Extension

Lots of people were asking about to make a tutorial on my set extension videos.
Since i´m quite busy with my other projects i don´t really have a time to do a full tutorial but
i decided to make a short VFX breakdown on District.9 set extension.

SOME INFO:

- I didn´t use Photoshop, everything was done inside of AE.
- I only used masks w/ feathering, color correction, fast blur & wiggler to create some cam
shake. So it´s all about to masking, feathering, color correcting & blending things together.

I hope this helps a little bit of solving all kind of "problems"

0:40 the colors don't quite match. The top is more bright orange and the bottom is more greyish blue. Also the black levels in the barrels and the wooden structure in the far right are too dark, they should'Ve been raised a bit to match the black level of the plate. Bot overall, the composition is great! I know that this is 2 years ago, but i'm just saying anyways

Hi bud been about 6 years since we last spoke I just have a quick question I’m having massive trouble trying to import h.264 footage into after effects can you tell me the right way can’t remember if you used mp4 or QuickTime file in to after effects then export or render as H.264

Interesting, question:

What kind of color effects did you apply?

I know the basic stuff so I only apply curves and some lightning here and there, but what else would be good to do in AE (After effects)??

Nice effort. However, if basic stuff such as perspective doesn't work, the shot won't sell.

a big problem of perspective in the original footage, the background needs a little elevation and the original's footage colors doesn't match to the composition

The angle of the roof doesn't correspond with the angle of the road. At least not perspective wise!
