Amazon Echo Studio Review | Still Worth it in 2020? | Mark Ellis Reviews

In this video, I offer my thoughts on the Amazon Echo Studio. I was 'tricked' into buying this (in my humble opinion) by a rather clever naming convention on Amazon's website.

See if you agree with me and find out whether the Amazon Echo Studio is still a good buy in 2020. Is it better than the Apple HomePod?

I'm still using my Wharfedale Speakers, which I bought (I think for about £80) way back in the 80's and they sound amazing still. Can't see any "smart speaker" lasting for 40+ years.
That said, I've just bought a 3rd Gen Echo Dot, which sits atop one of the speakers and is very useful when I'm too lazy to push actual physical buttons! I love it! 😉

I have had mine for a while and love it, wondering how a stereo pair would sound (the regular echos are a different class when paired) would it affect 3d audio? Think the bass depends on the track, (maroon 5 girls like you, Selena Gomez Lose you to love me) sound really good for example. For a standalone single speaker it is really impressive. And the smart speaker integration is flawless.

Love the review, I‘m still debating if I should get it, I have the UE Boom which is not bad, but I‘d like an upgrade. The echo studio is on prime day sale from 195€ down to 146€, so yeah it‘s enticing...

Thanks you’ve persuaded me to go for this on the basis that placement won’t matter. It’s going to replace a Sonos Play 3.

Thanks for the in-depth review, worth noting Amazon are selling the Studio for £159 during this week (Black Friday). Tempted to buy it for its Atmos capability with a firestick for my projector. Agree Echo is better than Siri although the latter has the advantage of being integrated in the Apple eco system. Thanks again for the review.

You should have bought this from QVC for £139, that's the price that I paid for my Echo Studio. I wonder how does the Echo Studio compare to the Bose HomeSpeaker 500. Would be a good comparison in my books.

Apparently 3D audio with music not mastered for it leads to really crushed mids/vocals and muddy bass. I haven’t seen this addressed much in reviews.

I'm considering getting this as I have Amazon fire tv cube . I'm hoping there be a price reduction as I want to buy 2. It's £145 including delivery from QVC UK . Can I connect this wireless to my sky hd box ? I have a smart tv but don't think it has Bluetooth .

The problem is you can't play your own music. You have to subscribe to an Amazon service. I don't want to pay Amazon to play music i already own.
