One of the most beautiful pieces of music and ballet ever written, and a wonderful performance.  Why would anyone give this a thumbs down?

I like this performance-the best ever for me. Different costumes, the best conductor-Valery Gergiev and other details I like most. But Irina Golub is amazing and Leonid Sarafanov-too. Always watch this performance with Love :-)

*Now, THIS is how I expect Op. 71 No.13 to be played!* Choreographing a Ländler or Völkerwalzer to this specific Movement is a worthy challenge for any ballet executive.

Period which they were in.
The height of the ladies legs,
Extensions, porte a bras, so
Fluid, lovely expressions as if
They were gliding.Dont to think dresses were that heavy
Just looks like it.

Marinsky Orchestra deserves the Global Blue Ribbon (Russians musicians play like their life depends on it) but the choreography is boring - watching strict courtesan dancing to this wild frenetic dizzying flurry of music set the explosion of spring has me wondering: "Who get's it? What Dance Company and where do I find them? 'Cause this ain't them..."
