So whilst lockdown is on, I thought I'd hash together some footage to bring to you A day in the life of a land surveyor 2020. I spend half of my time doing land surveying in construction, as well as being an engineer so I wanted to share what my day normally looks like.

Very interesting on complete start to finish surveying as a single person party with this GPS technology. I’m a local surveyor in Oahu Hawaii and we use 2 man crews, party chief/instrument man and rod man. I have a fair amount of party chief experience for residential (mostly “K2s” where we locate perimeter boundaries for land parcels and also set property pins. We also do topographies and elevations for insurance. Just crazy how much there is to learn in the full process as well as the different technologies and various applications. I was glad I was able to comprehend what you mean by brain mapping of having a game plan. It really comes with experience

What is the money like contracting Vs working for a company? I'm structural myself and it's definitely a trade-off between interesting projects and salary. Love the Razer Blade btw

And gis autocad, all that stuff fun as it is You can expect to spend min same amount of time with Drawing it up as survey..Unless you have super active system.... surveying is fun but not easy by any stretch of the imagination

I really wouldn’t choose to become a land surveyor.I work 10 hour days on my own without seeing a soul and the pay is terrible.
