Nathaniel Hackett was not a good offensive coordinator, especially when it came to time management. Ask Jacksonville and Buffalo how that worked out.

Saleh was fired because the Jets can't admit Rodgers is washed. Saleh is a defensive HC. You need a veteran QB to lead the offense. Rodgers is over the hill and can't do it.

They should have fired Hackett and told Rodgers to stfu

Ultimately this comes down to Rodgers, Jets sold the farm for him and he totally controls the orginisation (only reason Hackett has a job). No doubt media already spinning the narrative it wasn't Rodger's fault but seems quite clear he didn't want Saleh so made sure he was fired.

If anything, firing Saleh is good. He had the worst record in team history. The roster is talented enough that Jeff Ulbrich might just be what they need. Also Todd Downing is the play caller now.

Same old Jets. Since Namath won the super bowl it has been dumpster fire. 82 their hopes were dash by monsoon in Miami, 98 they ran into the Elway in his farewell tour, and 2010 their best shot they ran into the Steelers.

Simple way to fix the Jets ✈️ …Fire sale…get rid of all players they can’t for draft picks…load up for late April…trade Sauce Garner, Wilson and oh yeah, Rodgers…I’m sure Jacksonville and Miami would be very interested in him.
Then, as for this season…TANK!
In a couple of years, you can trade for a QB or draft one and go on a run…this team as it stands is going nowhere with or without Saleh and/or Rodgers.

I just think it’s kinda funny they fire Saleh after 2 games they lost by a TD (combined). One of which the offense couldn’t outscore a team that could only score 10 points and the other, their QB threw 3 INTS (1 that was returned for 6) to lose by 6.

He’ll be a good DC for some other team for a bit, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a second chance at being a HC somewhere down the line.

Jets have a lot of penalties, which indicates a lack of discipline, which falls on the head coach. A head coach needs to be able to contribute at all 3 phases of the game, yet Saleh could only help the defense. Mike LaFluer shouldn’t have been fired, it was clear that Wilson was the problem, not the OC. He couldn’t evaluate QBs at all. And having an offensive coaching staff that consists of Nat Hackett and Todd Downing near the top is a fireable offense. Most of these things were problems before Rodgers even got there, and never got better once he did.

Idk what it is with the jets and their love for defense but they NEED to hire an offensive mind at HC next season, and Draft a receiver or TE first round.

Lol surely the way you ruin a franchise is to let your all time great QB leave, not replace him. Be a terrible GM and make bizarre selections in the draft, thinking you are smarter than everyone else. Get gradually worse which exposes that your apparent winning culture was all based around said QB and slowly fade into obscurity now he isn't there?

The Jets were going nowhere under Saleh. Its a sad truth, it didn't matter if Wilson or Rodgers was QB, Saleh couldn't prepare the team, motivate the team, or hold them accountable. he was losing the dressing room and had to go.

He will become an excellent DC again though.
