I'm working on an eerie Halloween themed cardboard room box featuring this fancy piano. The room will hang on a wall. Learn how to paint plastic and finish this Chrysnbon kit. Lots of clever tricks in this one. Enjoy!

Some of my favorite things:

Double-sided flooring tape

Miter Shears- these are the clippers I use to cut pieces of wood and toothpicks etc

Oyu Pla/Oyumaru reusable mold putty

Cheaper clear mold putty I haven't tried

2 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze

8 oz bottle of Diamond Glaze

Heat gun- I use mine to quickly dry paint, soften the glue to dismantle furniture and quickly cure polymer clay without an oven. Gets a lot hotter than a hair dryer.

Craft heat gun that doesn't get as hot as mine

Paper fasteners & 1/8" hole punch

Personally think the stool should be upholstered. If it's going in a Halloween themed project maybe you could add dirty white flocking so it looks like claw marks ripped the fabric

So cool to see the way you modify kits like this! I see you’ve come around to mahogany haha

Red velvet on that stool would be great for a Halloween theme.

This is actually a pump organ as said on the kit, but if you did want to turn this into a piano, I would recommend you remove the pumps and replace it with pedals and remove the knobs (or more known as organ stops) which will make it look more like a piano!

I have that kit for about 30 years. Still didn't make it, because I want it in a spooky house. And that is also still a kit. I really need to start working on both. You made it looks so "old" and beautiful.
Thank you for sharing.

Wow, the gold really elevates it and the shadows add lots of depth. I would upholster the stool and then distress it heavily to make it look old and worn.

The dots on the little white knobs was genius, as all of your work is!

This is gorgeous! I love that you added the gold. And the way you added those shadows really brings it to life! I would probably upholster the stool, Much more comfortable😂

That came out wonderful. Yes to upholstering the stool, either red velvet or black pleather would be great. Need some sheets of music and possibly some candles up top. Wear the little foot pedals down a bit so that it looks used. Otherwise you have it and it is wonderful. Have a great day.

Omg, tell me why the simple dotting of the center "screw" on the porcelain knob WAS SO CUTE

You're right. It IS fancy schmancy! I hope we can see more of your Halloween project.

Love it. Since it's a spooky piano you could always make a very worn cover for the bench. Great job.

Wow, that turned out SO well! It seems a shame to cover up the lovely details on that stool seat.

It looks great! I’m going to use parts of this kit to mimic my great grandmother’s pump organ that I have in my home.

Omg, adding shadows. Completely makes sense that they are too small for casting their own shadows. 😮

Thank you!

Wow! This is really beautiful! I just bought a broken assembled one of these, with big dreams and no clue, so thank you for your continued guidance.
