Social impact bonds are a powerful tool to provide and improve services for disadvantaged populations. Social impact bonds have been used by state health departments for preventive healthcare and other social programs as a way to reduce health disparities. This webinar provides an introduction to the pay-for-success model and its previous application in government agencies. In addition, trends in state legislation around social impact bonds are discussed and South Carolina provides an overview of the programmatic and administrative challenges experienced during the development of the state’s first social impact bond program.
