There is Still Reason to Believe in This Atlanta Braves Team

As bad as things have been this year for the Atlanta Braves, there are still plenty of reasons to be optimistic going forward.

The offense has looked better as of late and should get a boost with the return of Michael Harris, while the starting rotation should get a jolt with the return of Reynaldo Lopez.

Nothing has gone the Braves' way this year, you have to believe that will change at some point.

Jesse Chavez made a post on ig that was basically a goodbye post to minter. Seems his injury is a lot worse than the 15 day dl. I’d be shocked if he came back this year. Lee must stay in the pen now.

I hate to say this but, if we didn't have Chris Sale pitch the last game, I feel it would have been another Brave lose besides with no help from the ump. With the win, I hope it's the kickstart move the Braves need.

Ritchie went 5 no hit innings last time out and a lot of the young guys are dealing. It’s been fun watching Augusta lately. Colby jones came out raking, and clohisy has been really good too. Gil, guanipa, and Garcia have had some decent stretches but have struggled overall. Gil and guanipa are + defenders at premium positions. Both have excellent rang but average to above average arms, + hands as well. Drake is still struggling.

Hi Jake. Sorry I missed the live podcast but was at church nominating committee meeting and just got home after 9 pm.
I am not a quitter either. While extremely frustrated, I believe this team can turn the season around and make it to post season.

This was an outstanding win tonight. Yes this team is able to turn things around. I agree whole heartedly Jake that this team can make a run for the playoffs. Will they? That’s yet to be seen without putting together a consistent winning streak. With that said, if they don’t make the playoffs considering how underperforming this team has been injuries aside, would it be a surprise? No. I don’t see them making it past the wildcard round. Now if they were to turn things around and make a legitimate run at the playoffs, well that would be a big improvement. #everydayer

Eddie cleared waivers and could have returned to Gwinnett but he elected free agency so that’s probably the last we see of him as a Brave

Honestly jake if any SP is questionable I think it's Morton over Spencer. Charlie is getting more inconsistent as the season goes on it seems, and I think schwellenbach will make himself a star in the post season. Baseball savant backs this up.

We could have very well seen the last of Minter in a Braves uniform, due to his reoccurring hip injury, and the fact that he’s a free agent after this season

Anybody who is claiming to be a Braves fan on here, and is either thinking the Braves miss the playoffs and / or in the case of one poster don't want the Braves in the playoffs as they don't want to see the Braves loose to the Phillies again in postseason probably aren't really fans of the Braves.

I, like most fans on here wait all year long for playoff races; this is the best time of the year. When things start to matter, post season is a possibility than anything could happen. I am not hoping the Braves miss the post season as to avoid the possible 3rd post season in a row knock out by the Phillies, like some fans are. I am actually hoping that if we get into the post season that our post season path goes through the Phillies.

With what this team has had occur injury wise, so many players with off years, the feeling that luck is just not with them I am thankful to be in a position where we post season is possible. The next 6 weeks should be a lot of fun.

It’s entirely possible, even somewhat probable, that the braves get super hot and enter the playoffs as the hottest team in baseball. I get guys having a down year but so many braves are having their worst years as a professional that it’s almost impossible that a few of them aren’t going to get really hot and progress back to the norm. Olson is swinging better, arcia is not great but but getting better, Riley is getting back to form, Murphy, Duvall, mh2 etc having career low numbers so some progress should be expected there as well. If sale, schwelly, and Lopez keep dealing that’s 3 of every 5 games that the starter is going to give you a really good chance to win and I have all of the faith in the world that max is going to start pitching like max and string 5-6 straight quality starts to end the season and lead us to the playoffs.
