Stopping Distance Demonstration

Have you ever thought about or realized how much distance a car needs to come to a stop? It's a lot! A driver needs time to think/react and a car needs distance for its brakes to bring it to a stop. In low light conditions, drivers need even more time and pedestrians often overestimate how soon drivers can see them. In most crashes, drivers had seen the pedestrians but could not stop in time. As a pedestrian, never assume a car will be able to stop on time for you.
