The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 riot is delving deeper into what it calls “the big lie,” Donald Trump’s false claims of voter fraud that fueled his relentless effort to overturn the 2020 election and led a mob of his supporters to lay siege to the U.S. Capitol.

The 1/6 panel resumes its hearings Monday with live witnesses, including Trump’s campaign manager, Bill Stepien, as committee members say they have uncovered enough evidence for the Justice Department to consider an unprecedented criminal indictment against the former president. Stepien was subpoenaed for his public testimony.

Abbott: I say Who's on first, What's on second, I Don't Know's on third.

Costello: Are you the manager?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: You gonna be the coach too?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: And you don't know the fellows' names?

Abbott: Well I should.

Costello: Well then who's on first?

Abbott: Yes.

Costello: I mean the fellow's name.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy on first.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The first baseman.

Abbott: Who.

Costello: The guy playing...

Abbott: Who is on first!

Costello: I'm asking YOU who's on first.

I hope that people who adamantly back Trump watch these hearings and really listen to what people in his own inner circle were saying to him, and realize that he is not who they think he is.

I remember Nixon. Nixon was pretty bad. During the period when Trump was president, I found myself missing Nixon. Only Randy Rainbow, Alec Baldwin, and lots of good cartoons kept me from going mad during those dark days. I am a long haired freaky person from Texas, and I was raised during the LBJ and Nixon years. I have the good fortune to have been able to see and recognize all of the changes that went on during those times. I watched the USA go from an apartheid country to something a little more free. I have seen a president who got caught doing wrong resign from his position rather than continue to try to lie his way through it. I have seen too many people stop thinking for themselves and just let someone else tell them what to think or do. I love my country, but I think that we're going through a big pandemic of stupidity. There's only one cure for this, reliable information disseminated far and wide.
And it really wouldn't be a bad idea to punish some of these scoundrels...

All mail in voting should be done and counted before election night so there is no way to manipulate it as needed. If the votes are there they should be easily counted and posted at the opening of voting on election day. That would eliminate the fear of mail on ballots
