It is worth adding that even though Poland at that time it was occupied at the time by Austria, Prussia (Germany) and tsarist Russia and was not on the maps, about 400, 000 Polish soldiers fighting on both sides of the front died on the fronts of World War I. Greetings from Poland.

Serbia lost 1.24 million which was 1/3 of its population at that time.

it's surprising how alliances have changed in 20 years. Once upon a time, allied armies later fought each other

3:29 I have looked up the data by historian Serge Volkov (Сергей Волков, 2011), in his research Russian battlfield casaulties were between 775k - 908k in WW1.
And again Volkov: "statistically speaking, for a thousand mobilized from Russia, 115 were killed and died, while in Germany - 154, Austria - 122, France - 168, England - 125, etc."

For serbia is not correct numbers, maybe you mean soldiers died in battle but civilians is much more than that

Idk is 16% right for Serbia from 1910 population register shows that Serbia had 2 922 000 people so 750 000 dead is about 25% of population dead

O império britânico e a França sofreram muito mais baixas na primeira do que na segunda guerra mundial.

So many people studying war just relish in the idea of glory and don’t see it for what it truly is

Najviše je izginulo Srba. Procentualno u odnosu na ukupnu populaciju; 725 000 nije prava brojka, koliko je samo civila pobijeno od svih mogućih okupatora.

But Poland should have been mentioned too! Because the number of dead was enormous for Poland with a total number of deaths of Polish civilians and soldiers in World War I of 1, 128, 000. So 450, 000 Polish soldiers died and close to one million were wounded while forced fighting in the Russian, Austrian, and German armies. 678, 000 dead civilians as a result of WW1. Total deaths from 1914–18, military and civilian, within the 1919–1939 borders, were 1, 128, 000. What very few people know is that the Poles were enormously damaged by this war, which was not the fault of the Poles at all. Poland was considerably damaged by the First World War. So Poland suffered enormous losses from WW1! Poland was ruined after World War I. The front rolled over Polish territory several times! ! Much of the heavy fighting on the war's Eastern Front took place on the territory of the future Polish state. The scorched-earth retreat strategies left much of the war zone uninhabitable. The economic damages were extreme for Poland through the First World War, which the Austrians are jointly responsible for with the Germans! Many Poles were also forced to work in Germany. Poles were indiscriminately forced into forced labor in raids. The working and living conditions of the forced laborers in the labor battalions were very poor. This weakened the Polish population additionally. The Polish territories conquered by the German army from the previous Russian occupiers were also looted, including the robbery of entire factories. Large areas were deliberately devastated by the German army during their retreat from the Vistula...shattered towns and villages. That was the scorched earth tactic! There were also massacres of civilians such as the massacre of Kalisz (before that Russian-occupied) On 2 August 1914. The German soldiers took polish hostages, mistreating them and even killing them. The town was burnt down! Only the churche and some public offices survived. A significant number of citizens were murdered with many women and children. Prior to the war, Kalisz had 65, 000 inhabitants. Afterwards, it was left with 5, 000 inhabitants. About 1 million Polish refugees fled eastward behind Russian lines during the war. Poles were also deported by the Russians. As a result of the death and deportation, the number of persons living in the later Second Polish Republic fell by 14.9%. It is estimated that in the years 1914-1918 about 30% of national wealth in Poland was destroyed.

My grandfather said to me at the end of his life: Yes, yes, you had to give your bones for the high lords. As a young man he was in Verdun, ran with a group of comrades across a funnel field and 7 were killed in one fell swoop by a grenade while he lay bleeding to death. A medical officer shouted as he ran past that he could be left lying there. But a lieutenant whistled him back and said: And you take the B... with you!
The Germans often had poor leadership, perhaps the best under the Kaiser, but he gave in to the generals. Today we have a leadership that I think is devilishly perverse. They call anyone who seeks justice a Nazi.

The first world war (or the great war as it was called at the time) is the most costly war the UK has ever fought in. We suffered over 880, 000 deaths🇬🇧 😢

You included the Armenian and Greek genocides in the Ottoman Empires total. And half of these countries totals have the Spanish Flu pandemic thrown in. For example Portugal had a grand total of 7, 222 combat deaths but around 82, 000 deaths from the Spanish Flu. Italy is also skewed. They had about 460, 000 to 650, 000 combat deaths but another 600, 000 from Spanish Flu and starvation. Compare that to the UK and colonies (excluding India, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa Newfoundland) where we have exact figures. Exactly 887, 858 military deaths from all causes (not Spanish Flu) means the entire comparison of your numbers is pointless.
