Making it Work (on a vintage mtb)

I needed to get Erin's broken wheel to Dirty River Bicycle works so I decided to get creative with my MODL Infinity Tools. On the way home I needed to bring a bunch of new t-shirts for my shop - so I decided to get creative with the Velo Orange Utility Rack. All this on my 1989 Team Stumpjumper.
I love using what I have to get the job done.

👏👏👏to both you and Sir Edmund Fitzwater....got close to 130 last week. Roller coaster weather patterns. But no matter, trails are dry and clear of snow/ice. 👍. Enjoy the weekend Tim....The Ides of March have past....Full steam ahead to April

Bought a six of Edmund Fitzgerald in honor of Edmund! I'm finally getting out too- about 70 miles last week. Seems like it usually takes about 200 miles until I feel "in shape". Thanks for the continued entertaining videos!

Our second bikes, or "heavy-work" cheap bikes are always more funny and relaxing to pedal, despite the lower quality parts.

Edmund is looking his best in this one! You should do an Edmund inspired bandanna.

The best way is to mount it on the handle bar.
100 times I done it.
just put the wheel vertical -through the horizontal handle bar. it's the best way to do it.

2:31 can vouch for brass nips. As cool as it is to have color options(not that Erin was going for that), they don’t hold up nearly as well as brass.

LOL at everyone asking why not such and such instead? Well sir, as a relatively new subscriber, I am enjoying your channel and have no suggestions at all😊

I’ve built a few wheels and always used brass nipples. Brass nipples make it easy to get things right for me as a hobbyist wheel builder.

Have you tried doing a spoke repair yourself? It's fairly easy if you know the correct length of spoke and weave it in properly (assuming you have a n-cross lacing pattern). Having it set up tubeless before is a hassle though, I admit.

If wheels don't drain water correctly, it will get under the tubeless tape and corrode the hell outta alloy nipples as well. Happened to a set of becky's wheels like 3 or 4 times.

I’ve seen those straps a few times and was always curious what they were. Also, not feeling good about my aluminum I’m nipples now!!!!

Aluminum nipples are so silly. I have a Specialized Allez that has AL nipples, and I have broken several, and not just on the rear drive side. I'm not tubeless, so it's not a big deal to replace them, but they never should have been such a silly material anyway.
