This video will show you how to calculate the tension in two ropes holding up a load. This problem requires that we set up the y components of the force vectors equal to zero and the x components of the force vectors equal to zero. We will then have two equations with two unknowns. We will finally need to use algebra to solve for the tensions.

Thank you.  This was very clear.  You could clarify where you got the Newtons from.  Some people, like myself, might not realize it's an easy conversion from mass.  I had to look that up.
