Doing research is very important, a big dutch bank ABN Amro is doing some green washing by investing in small green businesses and mentioning them on social media but is still investing mainly in mining, oil and wapens.

Some banks do greenwashing by not supporting unsustainable projects, but still giving money for the company itself. I don't know how to explain proper in english, but this way the banks can count the investing as not climate damaging in their statistics.

In the uk changing banks is so simple. You just go onto the bank website that you want to switch to (look out for switching offers) and choose the best account(s) for you. Then just follow the online registration process and they’ll transfer all your standing orders and direct debits etc and will let your old bank know you’re leaving!

I've been thinking a lot about green investments, but in Spain there are only a few options and I really feel I have to sacrifice some things and it is also not convenient at all. So in the end I'm always discouraged with it. I hope this fiel will develop more in Spain in the future and then I'll do the shift!! Thanks for sharing all your research, such a good work!!!

I left JP Morgan and Bank of America last year. Yikes!
Ive found better banks but it is a little distressing that I cant find financial products that really really align with my values. I am happy Ive made strides though!

If you live in the US I would highly recommend looking into using a local credit union rather than a bank!
