"In 2021, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman revealed the country's plans to build The Line, a smart linear city that will be constructed vertically, have no roads or cars and run purely on renewable energy. Now, the Saudi government has released image renders of what The Line could look like once it's done. The city was designed to only be 200 meters (656 feet) wide, but 500 meters (1,640 feet) tall and 170 kilometers (105 miles) long. It will house multiple communities encased in a glass facade running along the coast and will eventually be able to accommodate up to 9 million residents.

The Line's designers envision a city wherein facilities are just a five-minute walk away from people and where residents can organically bump into each other as they go about their daily errands. While it will have no roads and won't be able to accommodate cars, it will have a high-speed rail for end-to-end transit that will take 20 minutes. It will also rely on a natural ventilation system to make sure residents enjoy the ideal climate all year round.

The Line is part of Saudi's $500 billion Neom mega-city project being built in the country's Tabuk Province. It's a divisive initiative that's been beset with controversy from the time it started, because around 20,000 people will be forced to relocate by its construction.

The controversies surrounding Neom had compelled Riot Games to quickly go back on its decision to enter a sponsorship agreement with the mega-city project. Neom was supposed to be a main partner for Riot's LEC esports championship in Europe two years ago until backlash from fans caused the company to end the sponsorship deal a mere 24 hours later."

Saudi Arabia is planning to be one of the five most important countries in the world in the field of tourism and is currently building many mega projects such as the Qiddiya project, the Diriyah project, Al-Ula projects, the Central Jeddah project, the Al-Soudah project, the Red Sea Islands project, the Amaala project, etc.

The original video is biased:
I. Everyone was compensated handsomely for their land. This location wasn't chosen randomly, there are many factors leading to choosing the ultimate best location. Also, don't underestimate the message that the biggest producer of fossil fuels is building a clean city on renewable energy!

II. Women rights in Islam:
1. She doesn't have to contribute a cent at home, even if she was working.
2. She doesn't have to cook or clean
3. She doesn't even have to nurse her own kids, and the father should arrange for a wet nurse, had the mother didn't want to breastfeed.
4. The husband must provide the same living standards she was used to, in her father's home.

Hi guys, as an 20 yo Saudi women I appreciate your opinion and that you completely weren’t like the other people who were just being racist cause Saudi Arabia is the country building it, first of all not everything in the media you see is correct and a deepening source of information, we’re Saudi are tired so so tired of these allegations that the women don’t have any rights there, like guys these things all are not true since 2016. Women in Saudi Arabia have all rights to do whatever they want, all these controversies that are going on it shows how some people can be ignorant and like if they live in a cave! I’m not saying you guys are ignorant at all but I’m talking in general, I can drive, travel, there’s even an equal pay which some “developed countries” don’t have, women can wear in Saudi Arabia whatever they want but you’d still see Saudi women wear hijab cause they’re not forced too but because of their religion, also both genders have the same opportunities in jobs and no one knows about it in the western/European world they’re just focus on MBS and oil that’s it, the video you watched are taking sources from Aljazirah which is known by its lies and hate for golf countries in general especially Saudi Arabia, second thing the people who got forced to move first thing you need to keep in mind that Saudi Arabia geographically huge so they only asked them to move to a nearer place and there’s even a compensation and that compensations for one land/house owner are millions and they didn’t get killed or any of that bullshit they say, there are people who refused right but they didn’t got killed or whatever the hell they say, and seriously when he said “America could never?” All respect but America destroyed and killed a whole race are u kidding me now? the image the media created for Saudi Arabia that everybody is rich and show off and have a bucket of oil in each house and they ride camels to school and they’re dying for a western entertainment was such a stupid joke cause it’s not REAL at all like I swear come and see yourself you’re welcome at any time, so as I said Saudi is geographically huge right? So that means there’s plenty of things in Saudi, continued…

When Saudi Arabia builds a new state of the art city : "What about the rest of the world" that shows that you went into this looking to knock down anything.
When Ireland builds a new city, do you think anyone in the world says "Well... what about us? build one for us too Ireland." you would loose your shit if other nations demanded that of you, be flippin' honest.

Cmon now.

The people Displaced have been severely wronged no one in the world can argue that certainly not me, but to say that doesn't happen in "Murica" is bullshit, learn what Law firms have been doing to people in the states when a corporation decides they want to buy and "Develop" their homes into malls and shit.

Here you will say "Yeah but they get paid a stupidly large amount of Money to move out in yeah.... the Saudis pay people to move as well.

The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia SHOULD see the inside of a jail cell for even 1 life lost, But US War Machine is way worse that any Saudi Prince or King.

Like unbelievably worse, yet you sing their praises, that's why i cannot take you seriously at all.

Peace out, best of luck to you both.
