Nice video. I'm not consistent with my distance and hopefully this will help.

One of the complications that comes with de-lofting is during the downswing releasing the hands/wrist too early which causes casting that leads to hitting fat/before the ball. Trying to maintain timing during a swing and with the longer irons can be difficult.

Thank you. I love these golf tips. I am older and play par 3's most of the time. I usually choose the right club to tee off with since when I tee off, the ball lands pin high but to the left or right of the green. I suspect that I am not hitting the ball (using the hula hoop example) when the club head is square with the ball. It is either when my body and club is pointed left or right. Is there a drill I can do to learn to hit the ball at the bottom of my swing? Thank you again.

Dear Andrew, Thanks for the video. I understand the technique however I cannot quite grasp the definition of compression. Forget about my comment. While writing it it finally dawned on me DUH!
My best regards, Patrick

Main thing I tell myself, is to keep swing centred and come down to ground right at the ball. Produces a good shot over 90% of the time. Don't pull back...and don't pull up. Gotta compress pn ball...right where it sits.

You suggest that we "Deloft and Sweep".... Are you saying the club head will not bottom-out at any particular point AT ALL because of its horizontal flat sweep motion? Maybe the flat sweep motion actually has a very SLIGHT bottom out effect occurring just on the target side of the ball, (based upon what I am seeing on various other golfing videos) just barely enough to get it up and away from the ground. Seems possible??

When you deloft it doesn't it turn your 7 into a 5 or with sweeping the ground keep it a 7 iron loft?

hello. Could you also be able to fade it this way? thanks

My goodness why are so many people here saying “why would I want to turn my 7 iron into a 6 iron loft”. He’s just illustrating with a 7 iron. You deloft all irons equally therefore getting the same gapping plus the benefits of compressing the ball!

Hi. Thanks for your video. There is something that confuses me. I thought the different irons and the different angles of the irons, were meant to provide different projectories of the golf ball. So, a 7 iron angle produces a 7 iron projectory. Why do we want to deloft a club. In other words, if we deloft and remove part of the loft, does that mean a seven iron becomes like a 6 iron? I hope I am asking the question clearly enough. Thanks,

Will deloft and sweep make the ball travel backword once the ball hits the green?

Well. If you stand still and don't rotate with you lower body you arms will pass the body and thereby your arms will be in front of your body and the club going up and so the ball.

One worry about de-lofting is you start going 'long' with clubs, and you lose the ability to gauge your yardages. My 7 iron can be 150-171 depending on how well I hit it. If I am sitting at the 150 marker and fully compress the ball, I am off the back of the green since de-lofting also reduces backspin. You come in lower, with speed, and no spin? Not conducive to a good result.

Not being horrible but that was a bad explanation of this. Those swing thoughts will ruin lesser players chances. Accuracy will be all over the place. Just saying.

I just read the golf swing strategies, Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it) immediately after I received it and the following day I was at the golf field trying out the driving strategies for longer range. I was amazed when I immediately hit my irons with proper divots with strong impact. I was hitting about ten to fifteen yards farther with my irons than I was used to. Get your own today!

Soon after studying these golf swing secrets, Jοmtοnο Naha (Go ogle it) and rehearsing the drills as I read, I went out and also shot a seventy three. Another achievement I`ve done is hitting 13 of 18 greens in regulation. On the other 5 holes, I got close to hitting five to ten yards with the green. My handicap is a 9 so I do not sho ot 73s on a regular basis. It has been actually a long time since I made an outstanding round..

Worst explanation of compression ever. Suggest you read a Hogan book !
