About Rebecca - Executive Director, Impact Investing - SVA:

Rebecca is the Executive Director in the Impact Investing team and leads the investment of the Social Impact Investment Trust (SVA’s impact investing mandate with HESTA) across a range of sectors and capital instruments. Her focus is primarily on housing investments, namely social, affordable and disability housing projects. Rebecca is also part of the Synergis Fund, a new disability housing fund established by SVA and Federation Asset Management working to deploy capital into the Specialist Disability Accommodation market.

Rebecca also acts as a pro bono advisor and volunteer with TwoGood, a social enterprise working with the homeless and domestic violence survivors and is a Board Director for YWCA National Housing.
Prior to joining SVA in 2016, Rebecca held senior roles at GE Capital and Lloyds Banking Group in both Australia and in the UK. She has deep experience in the origination, structuring and execution of debt finance transactions across a range of sectors. Rebecca holds a BSc (Hons) from University College London.

About Laurie - Associate Director, Impact Investing - SVA:

Laurie is a Manager of Impact Investing at Social Ventures Australia (SVA). Laurie joined Social Ventures Australia’s Impact Investing team in 2018. Her primary focus is on the investment of SVA’s $70 million Social Impact Investment Trust, managed on behalf of HESTA and the investment of a new disability housing fund, the Synergis Fund established by SVA and Federation Asset Management.
Laurie was born and raised in South Africa which is where she began her career in the impact investing field working for GreaterCapital, a non-profit consultancy with a key focus on impact investing. She left consulting to join a pioneering asset management team that sought to bring investments in social enterprises into the mainstream, through the launch of an alternative investments fund.
