Nearly a quarter of individuals hospitalized with COVID-19 have been diagnosed with cardiovascular complications, according to the American Heart Association. Cardiovascular complications also contribute to about 40 percent of COVID-19 deaths.

Dr. Ranjita Sengupta, a cardiologist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, discusses the effects of COVID-19 on the heart and why COVID-19 is such a risk for people with pre-existing heart conditions. She also discusses strategies for preventing both COVID-19 and heart disease. This Webinar was presented in collaboration with Friends’ Health Connection.
