Ans 2.
Intro : - NEP 2020 promotes regional languages in India .
Pros:- 1.increase in learning outcomes
2. Helps in enhancement in status of local languages
3. Reduce in communication gap between doctors and patients
4.easy accessible or understanding for deprived people
Globally there are countries offering educating in local languages like Spanish, Japanese, German and chines also. It can be possible in case of India but have lot of challenges in country like India :
1. Difficult to translate in local languages
2. Difficult to access to information that is available in English
3.Against national integration because India is the country with extreme language diverse
4. NMC allows only in English medium
5. Required equipped teachers

Way ahead:- 1.can be possible but from basic not from middle
2. Local languages can be supplemente but not substitute
3. Reforms in NMC regulations
4. We can implement process of education in local languages but technical word should remains in English as we still using Latin words and geek words

1)
HIV is a viral disease caused by retro virus. It is a fatal issue that may go to the extent of causing death of an individual. Apart from that it is also a socio-economic issue given that there is a large social ostracisation towards people suffering from HIV; and the medical care is also expensive.

To counter this multidimensional issues, the govt of India has come up with many policy measures:

1) 90-90-90 vision
- 90% of people having HIV should know that they have contracted the virus. They should be enlightened about the disease.
- 90% of the above-mentioned should be treated
- 90% of the above mentioned should see positive results towards their treatment

2) free distribution of anti retroviral drug
3) campaigns to generate awareness among people about the causes, symptoms, and treatment of the disease; it also takes steps to curtail the social ostracism associated in the public.

Evaluation:-
1) there has been a positive outcome largely - decrease in the number of HIV leading to severe fatalities; decrease in the number of HIV cases - through proper hospital practice e.g, disposing off needles once after use; checking whether the baby may have HIV or not; etc
2) however, recently there has been allegations of non availability of anti retro viral drugs. This is mostly attributed to the disruption in supply chain amidst covid 19.

Overall, it has yielded a desired outcome.

There are some regional states and the National Education Policy that has resurfaced the idea of teaching in vernacular language including Medicine. However, it has been rejected by the National Medical Council.

Pros:-
1) it will help the students to learn in their own language instead of a foreign language as it may be difficult to understand given that not all students are proficient in English language.

Cons:-
1) India is linguistically diverse. So the students from other states will face difficulties in the host state.
2) there is no accurate vocabulary for the technical terms in every language
3) English is a common language and it is necessary given the recent outbreak of the covid 19 pandemic where there were massive exchange of information, various areas of operations e.g., India was one of the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer.

For all these reasons English should not be discarded as a medium of teaching and vernacular language may be used as a supplement but not a replacement.
