Is a calorie deficit really the only way to get abs? Well, if you're skinny it might seem counterintuitive to try and lose weight to grow your abs, and in this video I'll explain why!

I always like to think of the training portion as the "growth phase" and the diet portion as the "revealing phase". But if you're skinny and don't have any abs, don't try to lose weight! You need to grow them first before you try to reveal them, because you won't be able to reveal anything if they're already not there😅 So instead train them so they grow and develop and then go into a calorie deficit to reveal them more 👍

Completely agree. Didn't have abs as a skinny guy until I trained them. And they do stay, even without directly training them. What I also noticed is that even tho you have visible abs, that doesnt mean they are strong.

Finally someone is saying it. I never had abs my whole life as a skinny guy until I started actually training them, even now they don't look how I want them to but it's a process. Everyone is always saying you have to lose fat to see your abs, but they never consider that FIRST YOU NEED TO GET ABS!

Building a good core is essential imo. Squats and deadlifts do so much for back pain, stability in other exercises, etc. And because you always use your core doing squats and deadlifts it helps build abs ime

i barely train my abs and i’ve had them for a while. in the beginning i trained them all the time and they haven’t really gotten worse since i changed my split. after u grow ur abs to a certain point it’s better to just focus on everything else and watch them slowly improve as your physique grows. thanks for clarifying this bro ur a real one 🙌

I never put it together but I’ve been working out consistently now for about 9 months and trying to eat more because I’ve always been skinny and haven’t trained abs for at least 8 months and i still have them

Hey Max, I'm 12 years old (onto 13), and it isn't exactly recent that I started training to a different level. I plan on starting to lift weights when I'm 15, since it's the best age, and don't want to take the bold risk of possibly affecting my growth. At the moment, I simply do calisthenics. In the morning, I do 50 seconds of explosive switching lunges, 100 push ups, 50 seconds of cross-body mountain climbers, and 50 seconds of regular mountain climbers. I have visible abs, flexing or not, noticeable decent biceps, thin arms, and it was recent that I started taking legs more serious, so that's why I plan on doing 1 hour of biking every night, 3 times a week. This week, I did around 1 hour of biking on Monday, Tuesday, and yesterday (Wednesday), so I have that complete. My diet is avoiding sodas, desserts, and ingredients that just contain a lot of fat when I'm making my morning protein smoothie. I've been on this diet for a while now, which was accidental really, since it was suddenly I started to not enjoy those fatty things as much anymore. I'm trying to bulk, but it's been somewhat difficult since I don't exactly fully know what I'm doing sometimes. What I really need is what you recommend I should do, at the age of 12, to then achieve a physique like yours when I'm older.

I was at 10% body fat thinking I could get abs without training them and what did I see? NOTHING. So please train those abs and do some cardio.

Finally someone who proves my theory of it's not true that just because your skinny you have abs🤦. I know alot of skinny people with and without abs and ive noticed about the ones with abs is that those ones are more active, the play soccer, long distance, long jump, high jump and the other group of skinny People don't do much their exercise consist of walking to school and back, P.S Also the distance you walk can also give you abs.

Most poeple over complicate abs, it's just like any other muscle, you train it to grow bigger and cut to reveal it.
