I don't mind innocent characters - y'know the 'I couldn't possibly do bad, ' type. As long as they are done well. I think people do tend to hate them because they instantly think 'omg pure sue.' But, many people in real life can be that way. The thing about Once's Snow is that she was a thief, she was a hunter, she was someone who has killed - killed many, many guards. So this whole 'She's so good, she couldn't kill, ' thing doesn't make sense to her character. Also the love/forget potion thing...

Finally someone agrees that Snow needs to stop acting like human emotions are the devil. So many people wanted her to be killed off just because she killed Cora. It's ridiculous.

It is okay to be angry, depressed, unsatisfied, etc. Really, Snow...it's okay.

I'm glad you talked about this, because this is one of my biggest problems with the show right now. Snow has really gone off the rails in terms of her so-called "moral issues". I kind of want Emma to yell at her again... she was the only one with the sense to tell her mother to get the frig out of bed after Cora died.

At least in Mirror Mirror, Snow White does show some sign of nobility(her pity for the dwarfs and the people in the kingdom, returning the stolen money to the village, calling the queen out on how many taxes she issues, etc )but at the same time she is not a drippy goody goody person . She helps the dwarfs rob people .She makes the queen eat the poisoned apple .She's a human being who has been scarred by the queen's hatred of her .It's meant to be shallow to show how materialistic the queen is.

I agree completely! The whole 'tainted heart' scene felt incredibly contrived. Honestly the whole back half of season 2 was a huge mess

Snow White: A Tale of Terror?
Sigourney Weaver is the lead as the stepmother and is amazing, as usual...
But Monica Keena who plays the Snow White character was genuinely interesting and nuanced!
She does show good qualities, namely kindness to the servants, but She is also Vain, Spoiled, Flighty, And Bitchy!
And Then She Goes Through Genuine Character Development!
Even Better: She ultimately confronts her stepmother Violently and she is not shamed for it either by the characters or the movie itself.
It's really the best live action adaptation out there.

I just hated the double standard and I reject the ‘heroes don’t kill’ narrative this show clung to. No one can argue that killing is a good thing or should be an easy thing emotionally, but I don’t think killing someone who killed pretty indiscriminately makes you “as bad.”

You caught on to Snow White's poor characterization pretty early. I only wrote the character off in season five when the flashbacks revealed the Charmings were baby snatchers.

You pretty much took the words right out of my mouth Melina. You summed this up well. I could not believe the episode where she punched Gipetto, and she actted like it was something evil that had taken over her that made her hit him. Yeah, its called human emotion. UGH. The writers of Once are really pushing it, and frankly making me lose interest in a show that has so much potential.

If they wanted to go with Snow being dark, how about she did it out of revenge first, and self preservation second. Would have made more sense.

In season one, they show regina comforting snow at the death of her father, and I assumed that regina may have acted the dotting step mother while the king was alive. but they do need to show this.

You have no idea how many times of how many times I face palm during the show since the whole dark heart thing came up. Yeah I can accept the fact her heart is 'darkening' because she used dark magic. I consider that a side affect. But then they go and say that feeling angry when she had every right to be and punching him, that she is EVIL...EVIL, EVIL, EVIL! It feels like they're taking steps back from what they had her at in the beginning of the show. It's so disappointing. :(

I actually stopped watching the show a couple of episoded back because I got just angry at the portrayal of the whole charming gang, they are ridiculously "good", I was just expecting them to reveal they are the last descendants of Jesus or something. It just does not work for the story they (sometimes) seem to want to tell.

I think ONCE is suffering for poor writing, poor characterization and pointless characters like Hook. Sometimes I can't believe the writers are the same people from S1.

Emma is the hero, not snow.... it would push emma story more if they kill off snow.
