20+ years and Shinedown has kept me going in my darkest moments and my biggest joys. I've sang Shinedown songs to my children when they were babies, and I've sat in the dark singing and crying when I felt lost and alone. Few bands have kept me here but Shinedown is definitely top of the list. Thank you.

The one person who has been there for me was my daughter. I am a four time cancer survivor, she's only 21. She was 15 when I was first diagnosed. She's been a rock through it all. She introduced me to Shinedown. She took me to my first Shinedown concert. Thank you Charlotte! I love you! ❤

My husband and I heard this song for the first time at your concert in KC last Saturday. We both held each other and completely sobbed. Not even 2 weeks before then he called me up for the second time telling me he doesn't think he can keep going and that he needs help. He's a solider in the US army and it is brutal. It crushes the life out of you and then pushes you to keep going even when you can't. You touched us so close. It was such a huge bonding moment, I don't think he knew how hard it hit me when he called me and I never let myself grieve...yes grieve. A piece of you dies when you hear your other half say that. It is terrifying. to all the military spouses out there, be strong, but realize you don't always have to be the strong one. It is okay to grieve those moments and to feel them.

This is by far my favorite song. God has saved my life and brought me out of the trap of fetynal and meth addiction. He was with me and loved me even when I did not know him. Now he and I have the conversations we postponed. He keeps me from falling and he always wakes me up in the morning to see the daylight. Glory to God and God Bless you for making this amazing song.

After a lifetime of alcoholism I sobered up 10 years ago and my family and I have been living in NJ.. that isn't the tough part..my wife..my true love has suffered through clinical depression and anxiety for 40 years.. was going through ECT treatment..fell off our porch ..three skull fractures and brain bleeds.. went blind in one eye.. who she was is gone ..has been gone now for seven years.. totally different person.. not in a good way.. so through the ghost always makes me cry..
I have three great kids.. my daughter Nichole is the one who has always made me want to see the daylight.
I've been listening to Shinedown..found you guys late. Just listened close to daylight lyrics.. so it's new to me.. I'm 59 and you guys have helped me a lot of the last couple of years.. want to thank you.

There have been many times where I didn't want to see the daylight, but then I would think. I would think about my dad, who was my best friend. I would think about my one of my good friends who lost another friend to depression. She had told me that I was one of the only reasons why she was still here, so she is one of the reasons I am too.

My brother from another mother got lost and took his life but going through back damage and my head space because of Wayne Robert Martin im still here he'd rock up as much as he could and carry me out of my room/cave and say I've 3 remedies in the car i don't give a fuck if you want anything or if we just drive around the block you've got to get out of this room brother even it's for minutes he made me see day light, how blessed i am.

This song reminds me of my daughter's, my mom and my girlfriend that was with me when I got off opiates, it was because of her I'm still alive and when I was using I'm sure I wasn't the best boyfriend in the world, yet at my worst she loved me even harder then during our good times! Which is why she is the center of my world

I cried the second I heard the chorus because shindown is a band me and my dad have listen to and enjoyed together and it kills me that I've hid my self harm from him for so long this song makes me want to tell him about it and get help. Just remember guys your never alone. ❤



Edit: it's three weeks later. I didn't see my dad till two weeks after I made that comment and I told him it was hard but I did it

I lost my dad in may of 19 and my mom in 20 those two were my cheerleaders; but after they passed it became my aunt and uncle on the other side of the US. I was really depressed and not sure where or how I was gonna survive. Since then I have since sold my house and started working again as a nurse. I’m gonna add my new neighbors to this list and my adopted grandparents; I have to check in with at least once a day. It doesn’t get any easier but Ik I’ve got ppl I can talk to in the darkest of times. Sending prayers and hugs to everyone that made it another day. Keep telling yourself you are beautiful and wonderful and worth it regardless of what the world it telling you.

My girlfriend. We have our five year anniversary coming up and after my ex-wife had me wrongfully imprisoned for two years and put on parole for five more. She helped me through all of the things that I struggled with as far as not giving up and made me a happy person in general. Between having epilepsy and not having a license, she took me to my appointments so they wouldn't violate me and made sure that for the first time in my life I felt like I wasn't doing it 100 percent all by myself. She is the kindest person I've ever met and has the biggest heart. You guys played this song in Boise when I took her to her fist concert at age 41 and it has been our song ever since. You guys are awesome and we look forward to seeing you again this year. Have a great tour guys and we are some of your biggest fans. Thank you for our anthem 🤘

I’m a military combat vet and served in law enforcement for 33+ years. I started my own lawn care business in retirement to help with my PTSD. While I cut, I listen to Pandora and “Daylight” comes on every once in awhile. I get tears in my eyes thinking of all of those that got me through my dark times. My wife especially…but none more than God! I don’t know your religious convictions, but this song has God written all over it.
