China's FAST telescope detects interstellar magnetic field, which may help answer fixed star origin

Chinese scientists have obtained accurate magnetic field strength in molecular cloud, via Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), or "China Sky Eye"

The field strength was captured in a region of the interstellar medium that seems ready to form stars

That marks the only direct probe of interstellar magnetic field strength which may contribute to the enigma-like research on how fixed stars were formed
