Vauxhall Opel Astra G Mk4 1.8 Irmscher Throttle Body Cleaning. This Vauxhall Astra has a lumpy tick over so I decided to clean the throttle body. I found a blocked inlet so hopefully this will cure the problem.

i know this video is 2 years old but it may help someone. If you find your z18xe 1.8l running poorly/ hunting idle, and it almost sounds like the engine is misfiring on a cold start, then smoothen out. Its most likely the Fuel Evap valve is stuck and needs to replaced or the valve's hose is cracked, causing a vacuum leak. This can also throw sensor codes like MAF and oxygen sensors, when in reality is just the fuel valve that comes off the throttle body. Good luck and check your coolant lines

picked up the same car recently, same 1.8 engine, took the throttle body off after first watching this video and the body was filthy and the small hole was also blocked, took a good while to get it cleaned using stiff wire and plenty of carb cleaner but finally got there! ive watched all your videos on this car and the way you explain things step by step and the camera views really helps, i now plan to do the timing belt in the bear future now i know how its done! great videos, thanks
