Sung by the Plymouth Cantorei of First Plymouth Church, Lincoln Nebraska, on September 21, 2014. Tom Trenney, Conductor.

"There is a Balm in Gilead" (arr. Willam Dawson)
There is a balm in Gilead
To make the wounded whole
There is a balm in Gilead
To heal the sin-sick soul

Sometimes I feel discouraged
And think my work's in vain
But then the Holy Spirit
Revives my soul again

If you cannot sing like angels
If you cannot preach like Paul
You can tell the love of Jesus
And say, "He died for all".

There are certain days I feel discouraged and emotionally upset. When things don't go according to plan. Like today my day was perfect and by the time I got to my mom's place, I was minding my own business and singing to my music and my older brother said to me, "Stop it Alan, just stop it!" And after that, I felt discouraged and emotionally upset. But this song on YouTube helps feel better. And Jesus told, "Be strong Alan, don't give into negative feelings."
