I like skating both jeans are shorts. Shorts give me freedom as pants gives more protection from scrapes and cuts. Both are good

They protect your legs a LITTLE bit..I would say they probably benefit long boarders more, The reason for that is because the main protection comes from road rash in the speeds you will probably achieve on a longboard are more likely to protect you from sliding. But I’m sorry, I’ve never hit my legs with my skateboard or fell on a park obstacle and felt protected by my jeans, that’s what pads are for, any direct impact by something will definitely hurt regardless of what you are wearing. Unless you overdo it and wear like Kevlar.

Dude I still skate in my pyjama pants - Jeans suck if you sweat a lot and need to bend your knees to get good pop. Pain and scars is part of the process. My opinion..

In detail of why skateboarders like to wear jeans is because during the 90s street skateboarding got way popular that street skater wore clothes influenced from street culture clothings. Furthermore, since street skateboarding is very dangerous and risky they started to look for clothings that are durable and comfy. Therefore, that is why skaters love denim jeans now.

I personally like to wear some blue ridge canvas pants bc they’re breathable cheap as all hell and durable all at the same time, so I’ve got no problem wrecking them then grabbing another pair for chump change

I used to wear jeans when I was younger now. I wear shorts because more flexibility more air flow and also I wear the one eighty seven killer patch, Have the sleeves on them, so makes it a lot easier and more comfortable. Hurts when you're getting hit by the word. But that's why you get mid to high top shoes and long Take socks Or invest in shingard if you like

Number one they don't because jeans restrict movement no matter what kind of jeans anything else doesn't restrict movement. PERIOD.

Joggers and cargos are better. You feel more free. Stiff jeans don't actually protect your legs any more than a pair of baggy pants.

First no it doesn’t and second ur right on that part. Having lose pants does make it feel comfortable. I’m not really a jeans guy but a cargo guy. wear shin guards that are flexible not stiff and hard so u don’t hit ur shin while skating.
