Born and raised in Pittsburgh, and that view of the city coming out of the tunnels never fails to take my breath away. It's doubly beautiful at night! Glad you enjoyed our city! Come back and visit us soon guys!

The best way to enter Pittsburgh is through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and over the Fort Pitt Bridge.

The reason it feels so much bigger than it is, is because at one time it was more than twice its current population and not too far off from San Francisco’s population. Just like many other cities along the rush belt, population peaked between the early and mid 20th century. Most of the rust belt cities were strong in the manufacturing sector. Pittsburgh was once known as the capital of steel manufacturing. Eventually many factories shut down causing many to flee to other areas for jobs. This also resulting in a major decline in population. However in recent years Pittsburgh has stabilized and has somewhat reinvented itself as a hub for education, tech and healthcare.

A while back, I had a Spirit Credit and needed to use it quickly as it was about to lapse. I chose to use it on a random city and chose Pittsburgh. I had enough to buy my wife a ticket and myself. She wondered Why were we going to Pittsburgh.... We had a blast and my wife touts this as one of the coolest places we have visited. It was AWESOME.

Terrible video. You talk about how you love this city but really all you did the whole time was criticize everything you saw. Maybe doing some research before going there.

How could you possibly know how all of us act? I have lived all of my life.
I must admit, you sound like someone from the farm seeing the city

often overlooked is the fact that the city limits have not changed in the last 100 years, and only cover a small area of about 55sq miles. While the city of Pittsburgh ranks 68th in population, the metropolitan area population of Pittsburgh ranks 27th with 2.4 million. When you compare it to cities that outranked it in population like Oklahoma City and Nashville with sq mileage well above 450 you understand that’s it’s not as small as most people think

They used to have a Chinatown, but they got pushed out and moved to a different neighborhood. There is a Chinese restaurant left where it was that is great.

When you have a green arrow pointing left you can make a left turn without needing to yield to oncoming traffic. Oncoming traffic will have a red light.

As a Pittsburgher thanks for all the love ! Glad you were enjoying yourselves! Awesome ! Just happen to be typing this as ur making the food comments. We have sone great food here from all the cultures. I was even saying to mysef as you were forced to turn bc that street was blocked off. Best thing would have been to find a parking spot and walk to and down that blocked street. Probably had some great food and things to buy or going on and could have spent an hour easily. That would have been a super slice of Pittsburgh!!! ❤

You guys definitely could have used a Pittsburgher to guide you through downtown and point out so much stuff you were passing. The long one way street you drove on is Penn Ave and where you saw the street vendors, that's called the Strip District. A cultural icon of Pittsburgh where you can buy international food items and novelties of Pittsburgh. You were crossing the Monongahela River when you drove out of the Liberty Tunnel. The building with the 4 pointed castle looking top is the Pittsburgh Plate Glass (PPG) corporate building, who are the current owners of the PPG Civic Arena, home of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team. The bridge that you crossed after leaving the Strip District took you over the Allegheny River and you eventually were heading north from the city toward the North Hills of Pittsburgh. There's a lot that you didn't get to see like Heinz Field home of the Steelers and PNC Park home of the Pgh Pirates, and Mt. Washington, where you could have had an elevated view of the city and rivers. And if you ever drive back from the south, be sure to stay on I-376 from I-79 to get a real entrance into Pittsburgh.

My wife and I grew up in Pittsburgh, East End and North Side respectively. That's why we chose to build in an adjacent county and raise our children there.

The oldest Hindu temple in the US is in Suburban Pittsburgh (Penn Hills). So yeah, Not all that uncommon to see Indians here. Also Pittsburgh once DID have a Chinatown.
