Poncho Rain Shelter

Jason Salyer builds an impromptu rain shelter using a poncho and some tree branches while solo cmaping. Once it's all set up, he lights up a stove fire and makes a cup of delicious tea.

It's a little on the pricey end ($150 range) but Helikon-Tex makes this amazing Poncho that functions as a tarp, sleeping bag, and hammock underquilt. Comes in some really sweet patterns too.

Funny thing, I carry that much kit daily while walking my dog. Since retiring I've walked 2, 400 miles in 33 months mostly in one town. I haven't had to use the poncho as a shelter but I've walked in it more than a few times.
