On my second day on the job the postmaster expected me to be as fast as the people working there for years. She had the nerve to compare me to the manager who’s been there forever.

Lol I quit a few months back ! It’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It’s the worst job I’ve ever had. Forget that the post office and especially during Christmas time. Those Sunday deliveries were crucial!

Working for the USPS is the silliest decision you can make. The expectations as a CCA to deliver mail in a couple weeks like a seasoned carrier is ridiculous. The best part is just looking at how dejected, demoralized and unfriendly postal employees are, it's hilarious. Unless you need the $18.92 or whatever they start you out at, my advice...move on to something else.

I didn't mind the overtime. Pay me. Doing my route and a pivot in 8 hours. I told my supervisors I am not a horse. I am not running against a clock. My answer to that 8 hour and pivot was I will do my best to be back in 8 hours. Third bundles wasn't that bad for me. I really hated political mailman because you had to deliver every ballot by apartment number. Being a cca is not a bad position. I love money. I got paid. I am a man. I just felt sorry for the young single mothers who could not be there for there children. Like school after school or being home to help them with there homework.

As an rca, worst job I ever had in my life. They treat you like property and like they own you. Cannot wait to quit without notice

I quit a couple years ago and just now trying to get back in lol. Yes I’m fully aware of all the b.s you have to put up with but you do make good money and that’s something I’m in desperate need of right now. I applied for the pse position. Hope I get it.

I guess my 10 things are different considering I’m only in my 2nd week as a CCA. Day 1 I was given 85% of a route. It had a little bit of everything. Mounted, step out, CBUs and park and loop. Now, I did a park and loop during OJI but there were smaller streets with 20 to 30 houses with a cul-de-sac. No big whoop. But on this route it was a very long street with 200+ houses on each side of the street. Figured the PL was split up except my problem was I thought when I came back on the other side of the street I was to stop at my LLV and cross back over and move to the next section of the PL. Nope.

Next up is apartments. I hate them. Half of the complexes don’t have maps which is a pain if you have an over sized pkg to deliver. Plus, there are never instructions on where the mailboxes (CBUs) are. I had one route that had a PL, park in front and pull in to the back of the complex. Apartments never have parking which lead to a lady slamming my CBUs shut because she wanted me to move my vehicle.

I just think it’s crazy how it was one of the best paying job just 10 years ago to still starting under $20 in 2023!

Yo'! I'm in my second week of CCA. But here's the catch. I spent my 90-day probation as a USPS collector at the main plant. I asked to switch to a station to carry mail. WTF was I thinking? Might can't stand me because they can't treat me like a newbie. 8 days as a CCA and I'm already filing my first grievance against mngmt tomorrow. I'm at war with my station. Only thing keeping me motivated is my goal for the next 6 paychecks. After 6 more pay periods, I might resign, but I'd rather stay and give'em hell. Lol.

I’m just watching this video. I used to get PDIs all the time cuz I refused to work past 12 hours. And I hated taking splits from people who rarely shows up for work. The Union is a blessing and a curse. (Im not gonna get into it). I would tell myself everyday I gonna quit this job but when I look at my checks I’m like “Damn… Ima stay for 2 more weeks 😂” Luckily I just became a regular past Saturday and things became a lot more easy for me because you know have a lil more freedom and not getting sent back helping someone or getting absurd splits. Yes the check will cut but staying in the post office long as I will try since I am 25 right now, that money that you was making as a CCA will come back in the long. I am hype for you working at Amazon. Amazon good as well and have better management that fosho.

I'm a CCA converting November 6 in NYC.
I don't mind the pivot depends on the route tho. I don't like the weather as well, when I do pivot I'm not doing nothing for free on less I'm ok with it.

Glad you're happy where you are now.

There are 2 types of people... the soft ones who resign because is too hard and start to make ''hate videos'' - and the ones who suck it up - and become regulars - and start to do motivational videos, like CCA Nick.

Thank you for all your videos! I was wondering if a Catholic or other religious person can ask for Sunday off? Can one be certain to be off on Sunday by 5:30pm to attend the laar Mass available?
God reward you!

Never heard of a PDI. We just called them I/I’s, or “Investigatory Interview”. Yeah, they suck. But honestly, the best routes are park and loops. I absolutely HATED curbside.
