It's 5:44 am and I'm laying in bed listening to this before going to work at 8 am. Don't know why I'm writing this. Maybe because someone else is doing the same? Whatever lol

Sounds like George Michael's circuitry is malfunctioning and he's slowly melting.

Y’all know this song isn’t about sex right? The sax gives it a sensual element but the actual song and lyrics are about cheating....

Sounds like it’s 9:43pm at a early 2000 shopping mall

i think maybe the reason we get so stuck on these songs is it projects you into a timeless era. most vaporwave is strong 80s vibes that many of us that listen never lived through. we don't know one thing about the future- what houses will look like, what music will be popular, who you'll be. people who lived through those specific eras forget the pain and only remember the popular songs and the feelgood of walking in malls with friends. others can't make peace with what happened in the past. but for those of us who never lived then, who have trouble making peace with the present, never have to worry about making peace with a past that didn't happen. that's why it's so nostalgic, it's easy to find peace in something you never have to make peace with, it's easy to dream about a time you weren't obligated to be mentally, physically, emotionally present 24/7, but the 80s memorabillia makes it familiar and comfortable, which is something we can never get for the future. or maybe the song just slaps.

"And I'm never gonna dance again." That hits so different now that George is dead...

You don't understand what kind of power this song holds in its hands (well metaphorical hands)! I am certain that neither George Michael or the whole world would have imagined this song become such a sample in so many different categories of so many different genres for different things. It has been played in numerous Adam Sandler movies for comical relief. It has been part of movies about the 80s. It has been used in YouTube videos, has been mentioned in trillions of books, has been the song babies were made to and are still made to. This piece isn't just a simple song. It is THE song. And it is beautiful. I love it. Have ever since I was a little girl. Imagine little me in 1999 jamming to this song as it was playing on MTV. Yeah. That's how much I love it. Especially the last bit. I guess, you all can see that I have strong feelings concerning Careless Whisper.

It's a hot summer night, you're in a big city, chilling in a hotel room, on the balcony... listening to this. Just in love with the moment.

R.I.P. George Michael

At least he posthumously went from ashy to classy and he ain't even known it was possible. But I still like the original sax a bit better. I think we all do.

If you play this at 2x speed it sounds a bit like Rick Astley.

Does anyone else feel like this is somehow *dangerously* relaxing?? I keep coming back to this as the months and years go by and every time it feels like the frequencies could literally stop my heart it seems to slow down so much. My neck muscles automatically go LIMP when the sax comes in. It really feels like some scientific phenomenon.
