I'm convinced the most baffling day of my dog's life was the day my son started walking. Before that, they were similarly sized four-legged creatures who had to be fed and cleaned up after by the big two-legged humans who understood each other, but didn't understand them. And then, one day, out of nowhere, everyone in the house was on two legs, except for him.

Children and Puppies are important to eachother.

the puppy grows and plays, being a constant companion to the child. It teaches the joy of playing and of being outside. The puppy grows into a dog and teaches what unconditional love is to the child... the excitement of seeing them after school.

Finally... the Dog grows old and teaches the teen about loss... and grieving. The hardest lesson of all, but one that prepares the Teen for life as an adult.

The dog is god's gift to Mankind.

My parents have photos like this of me and our dog Sam when he was a puppy and I a baby. When I was a teenager he died in my arms, one of the most heartbreaking times of my life and something I will still get emotional when I think of him now at the age of 45. I take all animal loses hard and Sam was one of the first pet loses and definitely one of the hardest. I wouldn’t take back the time I had with him to save me and my family from the pain.
This little video took me back in an instant.
