President Biden says now is not the time for a ceasefire in Gaza -- a comment that sparked anger among liberal Democrats in Congress as well as young Muslim and Arab American voters. Senior Democratic strategist Waleed Shahid tells Hari Sreenivasan how this could pose a risk for 2024, as politics and passions are ignited by this new war.

Wakeed, please know that it’s not just Arab Americans who are upset with how Biden is reacting right now. There are plenty of us retired white lefties who are outraged right now

Biden will most definitely lose a significant percentage of his 2020 collation.

Great discussion! Thank you for having the courage to air this unlike most American media.

I agree with Waleed. Palestinians (there and abroad) should be accorded the same dignity and respect as Israelis (there and abroad). We must acknowledge Palestinian lives lost as we do Israeli lives lost. It's disturbing that a BIPARTISAN vigil was held for ONLY Israelis. I really wish we had a President as strong as Bush or Clinton, who held the Israeli leadership firmly accountable for their part in the conflict.

I am on the left and now not planning to vote for Biden as a result of his blank check to the state of Israel.

I'm not muslim but as a black man in America I feel some type a way about how Biden has handled this situation and I will not vote for him if he doesn't do a 180. I do not support a right wing Israeli government committing war crimes on my dime. I can't support him for 2024.

Thank you, Waleed Shahid! You speak the Truth. I am speaking to my Senators and Representatives but most hear only the party line. I will keep trying! 🙏

"But if your shock and distress comes only at the sight of certain brutalized bodies? If you speak out but not when Palestinian bodies are besieged and murdered, abducted and imprisoned? Then it is worth asking yourself which brutalization is acceptable to you, even quietly, even subconsciously, and which is not." Hala Alyan

I'm a life long democrat and Muslim and I can't in good conscience vote for Biden in 2024, it's just appalling how Biden is just an extension of an apartheid government. He has lost my vote. I'm a Detroiter and while I don't live there anymore I am certain that Biden will lose the Arab and Muslim vote not only in Dearborn, but throughout the nation. I will remember the blood-letting of my Palestinian brothers and sisters. I must at the very least do this for them.

Let's put things in context which US people may understand. Falls Church VA is a well known city close to DC. Up to Oct 25th, the deaths of civilian children under 18 in Gaza is equal to the death of every single child in Falls Church. What would be the reaction of Americans if this happened, and the reason was that there were terrorists living in Falls Church?

I’m white American so-called boomer multiculturalist, certainly not anti-Semite. I don’t think I can vote for Biden again. I’m disgusted by the actions of this administration and lack of compassion for Palestinians.

Beyond the immediate problem of Hamas the US- Israel has no long term plan of how to govern the Palestinians within the borders of Isreal, other than to possibly maintain interment camps indefinitely. Hardly an approach in keeping US democratic values or viable in the long run
