In this tutorial, we explain how to correctly install and use Llama 3.1 in Linux Ubuntu from the command line. Llama 3.1 is Meta's (Facebook) most capable Large Language Model (LLMs) up to date. In this tutorial, we explain how to install and use Llama 3.1 in Ubuntu Linux from the Command Line. In this tutorial, we will use Llama 3.1 model with around 8B parameters. However, you can also try to install larger models having 70B or 405B parameters. You can tell us your experiences of running these models in the comment sections below.

To install Llama 3.1 we will use Ollama. Ollama is an interface for running Large Language Models (LLMs) in Windows, Linux, and Mac computers. You can integrate Ollama with a number of LLMs, such as llama3.1, gemma2, mistral-nemo, mistral-large, etc. Furthermore, you can integrate Ollama with RAGFlow and create an advanced personal assistant and a chat assistant that help you with your work, research, or daily tasks.
