building isn't that hard. it's choosing the parts that would work best with each other and making sure everything would fit in the case is the hard part for the beginner.

absolute beast of a computer for a first build lol

Can you actually show the cabling attachment, it’s the most difficult part for non tech people, whereas just showing fitting cpu, gpu, ram etc is relatively straightforward.

I love how this video was put together assisting a beginning and asking / answering a lot of questions along the way. Very cool format.

A bit of advice when building a computer with multiple people present. Never hand a bare computer component directly from one person to another. Static electricity is a part killer, and just the difference in static charge between two people can be enough to fry a stick of memory or a drive, or even a motherboard or video card if you're particularly unlucky (though parts like that do tend to be a bit more robust). If another person needs to take it from you, set it down for them to pick up. Needless to say, try to avoid working on a computer while on carpet, too.

About resetting the CMOS by removing the battery, you'll also want to have the motherboard powered off and removed from all power (unplug it from the power supply) because many motherboards will still pull enough of a trickle from the PSU to keep the CMOS clock running even with the battery removed.

Another reason to start the build outside of the case (which they didn't do here) is to boot it at least once with everything plugged in to make sure all your components work.

Unfortunately, while the rates are low, parts do sometimes fail right out of the box. It's a lot easier to troubleshoot while everything is still laid out on the table than with it all installed in the case. Even if you do install it all in the case before the first time you turn it on, definitely do some testing before you start cable management. (One of the reasons to test before putting it in the case is so you can do cable management _as_ you install each component.)

Trust me, you don't want to go through all the effort of installing all your parts just to have to take it all apart again because you forgot to properly install an M.2 drive or a cooler backplate or something similar, or because you got a bad stick of RAM.

27:06 actually frame generation is available with every GPU of the RX 6000 and the RX 7000 series, it's called AFMF (AMD Fluid Motion Frames), and it just came out a few weeks ago

Love how he said he would just be there if he needed help but he’s almost doing the entire build for him 😂

I absolutely love the Hyte Y70. There's so much room and so much potential, and all that glass lets your eyes feast on your finished work from then on.

I'm about to build this weekend for the very first time. I started out knowing only the minimum basics, after about a week of research and your reviews I now feel confident that I have spent less money for similar performance as the pre-build I had my eye on. I'm still nervous but this really helped me calm my nerves somewhat. Thanks for all your work and education!
Oh and specs if anyone is curious:
7800X3D
Powercolor XT 7900XTX hellhound
MSI MAG B650 tomahawk wifi
2×16GB 6000Hz CL30
2TB SSD
1000W corsair psu
Phanteks eclipse G500A
Arctic liquid freezer ii 360
Choices based on a mix of what I want/what I realistically actually need and what was reasonably priced. Equivalent of $2760 because I live in Norway

I just built my first pc and it is not as hard as it looks the only challenging thing I would say is plugging in all the cables into the motherboard but after looking at some videos I knew exactly what I was doing.

this very simply worded walk through did more for my confidence in building my first pc, than the numerous people and youtubers telling me "Oh, it's easy." then going on about the technical. this was very helpful, thank you. a comment below mentions showing the cable attachment and i agree that that would be very helpful to us less technically inclined individuals.

I am building my first ever in the next week I think that I can get it done. But there is always that uncertainty that makes you nervous edited anyone that wants to know it will be a Ryzen 7800x3d with 4060ti 32gb memory 980 pro 2tb in the 3000d airflow water cooler. Just got it for Christmas and so excited

I have never built a pc before, then all a sudden i decided to spend 3 grand on a new build for myself, and 2 grand on my wifes. shes 1080P gamming and im 1440P gamming. but i built two completely new pc's first try, updated bios even, set up xmp profiles, installed windows too. 3 months in no issues on first boot. all of this is because i keep watching PC centric. your videos are awesome, the way you handle the components made me less afraid, because i see there not as fragile as i was thinking lol.

anyone that is wants to build a pc i think can easily do it, just have to be patient, calm, and abit careful. Installing the cpu was my most stressful part. tiny little pins on these 7800X3D cpu's .
