Introduction to Java 7 - Installing JDK/Eclipse

Introduction to our Java Tutorial Series. In this video we will install the JDK(Java Development Kit) and we will also grab eclipse as our default IDE of choice. And we will do a simple Hello World application.

Well as I said Eclipse keeps itself up to date. And you typically want to remove the prior JDK and re-add it. You can have multiple versions installed but it can conflict sometimes. Either way I really recommend just doing it yourself.

Also Ninite doesn't support Eclipse/JDK. Either way sure it's a neat tool. But everything it has updates so seems pointless these days!

well, that site is actually good, no malware, been using it for a while, and i can download one program to install everything for me, was mostly curious about your opinion on using that site when it makes it really really easy to install =)

Why would you need/use something like that :P. Besides Eclipse keeps itself up to date once you grab it. And updating the OpenJDK from the app store is done automatically. Far as if your on windows its really easy anyway just navigate to site redownload and your done.

Sorry I just really distrust tools like that. Fantastic place to get malware if your on windows :).

have you tried using ninite.com and installing eclipse and JDK there? it's really easy =)
