It just absolutely baffles me how we learn almost no Indigenous culture in school. I learned about all kinds of European cultures, but the culture of the Indigenous peoples, of the place where we live is completely ignored. I know more about the Indigenous people of Mexico, Central and South America, than I do of the people of the United States. No wonder it is so easy for us to treat them as cartoon characters.
