I met him the other day at his book launch about his life so far. He is 36 years old and have gone through a lot. Indeed a super star and a humble guy. Extremely talented.

Erik won the Swedish Idol competition in 2009. It may have been during that competition that he received the instructions you are now observing? He was just a little boy when he entered the idol competition by singing Skidrow's "18 and life" at his audition (available on Youtube). 2010-2020 he was the frontman of the band H.E.A.T. In 2021, he was diagnosed with leukemia. During his treatment, he started recording music which he posted on Youtube. Skidrow saw these clips and hired him as a singer in the band. What a boy's dream to sing in his favorite band he had since childhood. But after undergoing stem cell treatment, Erik's immune system is like a 4 year old's and it was difficult to tour, so Erik put his health first and quit Skidrow earlier this year.

You should definitely get to know him! An incredible singer from Sweden. He sang in Skid Row before. Unfortunately he got very ill and decided to go solo for health reasons. This is is cover by John Farnham.

Erik Grönwall is the Swedish rock and heavy metal singer, singer-songwriter and actor who started his career when he in December 2009 won the Swedish Idol reality television show. His first single, “Higher”, sold gold on digital downloads after only three days and the first album, self-titled “Erik Grönwall”, was released just ten days after the finals and debuted at number one on the Swedish albums chart and was certified platinum. Artists such as Joey Tempest (Europe) and Paul Stanley (KISS) wrote songs for the album. In 2010, he joined the rock band H.E.A.T as their lead singer and released four albums with the band. Altogether as a solo artist and band member, he has numerous top 40 hits. In 2018 he made his acting debut in America in the NBC live television concert production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar, in which he received a Grammy nomination for in the Best Musical Theater Album category. In March 2022 Grönwall announced that he would be joining American heavy metal band Skid Row as their new vocalist. Grönwall left Skid Row in March 2024 to prioritize his recovery against leukemia.
