2.Balanced and unbalanced force

Initial velocity of the object (u) = 4 m/s

Final velocity of the object (v) = 8 m/s

Mass of the object (m) = 100 kg

Time take by the object to accelerate (t) = 2 s

Initial momentum = mu = 100 × 4

⇒  mu = 400 kg m/s

Final momentum = mv = 100 × 8

⇒ mv = 800 kg m/s

Let us calculate the Force exerted on the object (F)

F = (mv – mu) / t

F = (800 – 400)/2

F = 400 / 2

F = 200 N

Initial momentum of the object is 400 kg m s^1

Final momentum of the object is 800 kg m s^1

Force exerted on the object is 200N.

HOMEWORK ANSWER -
INITIAL MOMENTUM = MU = 100*4 = 400 kgm/s
FINAL MOMENTUM = MV = 100*8 = 800 kgm/s
