What's wrong with this brake caliper? 🤔

Can anyone tell what's wrong with the brake caliper?

Uhhh the caliper became the brake for a few hundred miles

What’s going on with the rubber boots? Looks like they were using the two pistons as a brake pad.

Pad wore down and slipped out. Rotor been rubbing on the pistons

Pistons came out and locked because pads were way past worn out. I saw an 1988 Ford Bronco bust the pad material and did the same thing. Difference was the brake pads plate was still in place.

hard to make out but the pistons have seen some abraision

Rotor enhanced machine work on the caliper pistons. Helps clean the brake dust completely off. 😂
