Here's a good candidate for a forgotten player. Samaje Perine for Oklahoma in 2014. 263 attempts for 1, 713 yards. He even set the single game rushing record with 427 yards that year, just one week after Melvin Gordon broke it himself. The reason no one really brings it up is because Oklahoma went 8-5 that year with bad QB play. 2014 is kinda a forgotten year even for Oklahoma fans. If we mention Perine we usually think the 2015 version that shared the backfield with Joe Mixon.

One players that needs to get mentioned is Northern Illinois rb Garrett Wolfe. His 2006 season spectacular. Over 1900 rushing yds and 18 TDs. He also had multiple 300 yard rushing games that season

If you’re gonna talk about Kenneth Walker then go back and look at Chris Browns 2002 season at Colorado. Aka the last really good season the buffs had prior to Deion arriving. Yes, I know they made it to the PAC 12 championship game in 2016, but that team even though fun to support was a tad lucky.
