Explanation for Jason being broken:
Jason is deformed, we all know that. But in Freddy v Jason, we can see how the counselors were messing around 😏, and kids bullied him and pushed him into the water. He drowned, and his mom grieved. She got so sad that she went on a killing spree, and killed a lot of teens returning to the camp. When Jason sees his mothers decapitated head, he kills (fun fact, he doesn’t have a hockey mask until the 3rd movie), seeking to revenge his mother, killing anyone who returns to the camp.

The Grabber from The Black Phone is clearly a case of a severely abused child.
He sees himself in the kids but also takes on the role of an abusive father waiting for them to dare leave the room.
His personality changes as well as the usage of the mask give a (at least to me) clear indication of when he's playing his child self or his abusive father.
So I'd say he's broken, clearly his severe abuse did something to fracture his mind

The reason for all his evilness is because he was basically just getting harassed by the neighbourhood, with any person constantly going after him for no specific reason. In the end, he was burnt alive, but ig he made some deal with the devil and started to haunt people.
